November was primarily the www.katydids.biz month.  A lot of effort went into Kate’s website for her jewelry.  You can check that out directly if you want!
Will played in his second… maybe third Magic the Gathering tournament.  That’s a rather complex collectable card game… in other words, one where you can spend money to upgrade your deck.  Will has thousands of cards at this point… but there’s always newer, better ones coming out…
Other fun things… we went to the Concord Museum.  They have an annual event where they decorate Christmas trees to reflect specific children’s books.  I shot a few before they told me photography in the museum was prohibited…
Then, of course, there was Turkey Day.  Janet and Bill Garber came out from California to spend time with us.  We had the first real snowstorm of the season…
Which helped us all enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner even more, especially Bill, because in was in out of the snow!
We also went to see a local version of the Nutcracker where they import some talent for the lead dancers and use kids from the town for the secondary parts (if you count Clara and her brother as secondary parts).

In computer game land, Brie has done a Neverwinter nights mod that actually requires a bit of programming in a C like language.    I’ve been playing Tribes 2 again, after a long hiatus, mostly because Eric Haines talked me into playing Battlefield 1942, which was graphically superior but, in my opinion, didn’t have the depth or complexity of play that came with Tribes 2.

I’ve also been playing a Tribes 2 mod called Meltdown 2 which has added about two dozen new weapons and vehicle types.  Since most of these weapons are insanely powerful, it’s pretty much destroyed the game balance and made total offense the name of the game.  From the quad chain gun to the reaver flak cannon (which fires a constant stream of exploding projectiles) to the flamethrower and the Starburst Mortar (which blows napalm over everything in site), it’s a constant barrage of mega powerful weapons blasting everything in site… the first time I played, every thirty seconds I’d be crying out “what the HECK was THAT!”  But, hey, sometimes it’s just fun to go on line and blow things up.  Oh, and what’s that in this picture?  Is that our warm, fuzzy friend mister Nuke?  Why, yes, it is our warm fuzzy friend mister Nuke.  Only Tribes 2 has a game map large enough to support a weapon with a blast radius that would take out a city block.  Only Meltdown 2 was insane enough to implement it.
